Custom Color turns family photos into printable coloring pages. That means parents trust us with pictures of the people they love most, including their children. This policy explains plainly what we collect, what happens to your photos, where data lives, and how to get it deleted. If anything here is unclear, email us at hello@customcolor.ai.
Who the service is for
Custom Color is designed for adults: parents, grandparents, guardians, and teachers creating coloring pages for the kids in their lives. Accounts are for adults only. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and children should only use Custom Color with an adult supervising. When a photo of a child is uploaded, it is the parent or guardian who uploads it and who controls what happens to it.
What we collect
We collect only what the product needs to work:
- Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. Authentication is handled by Supabase; we never store your password in readable form.
- Uploaded photos. The photos you choose to convert into coloring pages (JPEG, PNG, or WebP, up to 10MB).
- Generated line art. The coloring-page images created from your photos.
- Email submissions. If you join our updates list or request a download, we collect the email address you submit, along with the page you submitted it from.
- Basic technical data. We use your IP address to rate-limit the free conversion tool and keep the service stable. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers on this site.
How your photos are processed
When you upload a photo, it is transmitted securely to our AI processing partner, Black Forest Labs, whose image model converts it into clean line art. We send your photo for one purpose only: generating your coloring page. We do not sell your photos and we do not use them for advertising.
Uploads are also screened by an automated content-moderation system built with child safety in mind. It is designed to fail closed: if a safety check cannot be completed, the image is refused rather than processed. When the system detects that a photo includes a child, it applies stricter screening thresholds, not looser ones. We may review flagged images where necessary to keep the service safe.
Where your data is stored
Account data and saved images live in Supabase, our database and storage provider. Saved photos are kept in a private storage bucket scoped to your account: storage rules enforce that each user can only access files in their own folder, and database row-level security ensures you only see your own records. Generated previews from the free conversion tool are delivered from our AI partner's temporary result link through our own server.
Who can see your photos
You. Your uploads and saved creations are not public, are not shared with other users, and are not browsable by anyone else. A small set of service providers process data on our behalf to run the product: Supabase (storage and accounts), Black Forest Labs (image conversion), Sightengine (automated safety screening), Vercel (website hosting), and the system that manages our email list. Our team may access specific images only when needed for support you request or for safety review. If you order a printed product in the future, our print fulfillment partner would receive only what is needed to print and ship your order.
Cookies
We use essential cookies only: session cookies that keep you signed in to your account, and (during pre-launch) a cookie for the site preview gate. We do not currently set advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.
Emails you give us
Email addresses submitted through our forms are forwarded to our lead-management system and used to respond to your request, deliver downloads you asked for, and send occasional product updates. To stop receiving emails, use the unsubscribe option in any message or write to hello@customcolor.ai.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data only as long as it is needed to provide the service. Formal retention windows are currently being finalized; until they are published here, you can have your photos, generated pages, or entire account deleted at any time by emailing hello@customcolor.ai from the address on your account. We will confirm once deletion is complete.
Children's privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not offer accounts to children. Photos of children on Custom Color are uploaded by parents and guardians, who remain in control of them. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us directly, contact us at hello@customcolor.ai and we will delete it.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to tell you what data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Send requests to hello@customcolor.ai. We respond to verified requests as quickly as we can, normally within a few business days.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes affecting uploaded photos will be communicated clearly before they take effect.
